David Skiles

David Skiles was born in Morgantown, West Virginia. David has lived all over the county, but for the past ten years he has lived in Fairfax, Virginia. David attended Valley Forge Military Academy for High School, and upon graduation enrolled at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. David majored in Government and International Politics.

Currently, David works for Miller/Wenhold Capitol Strategies and oversees the firm's State Affairs division, in addition to his work on Federal issues. David also specializes in agricultural and labor issues.

David has also taken up the cause of ensuring military ballots are counted. Currently, he does pro bono work for the Military Voting Rights Project, an organization that works to ensure that military service members and families are not unfairly denied the right to vote.

In addition to David's work at Miller/Wenhold, David is an active member of the American League of Lobbyists, the national association that represents the lobbying industry.

Prior to David's joining Miller/Wenhold, David worked on various political campaigns on the federal, state and local levels. David also interned for Newt Gingrich's American Solutions Organization and served as a Staff Aide for a local Fairfax County Supervisor. David remains involved in Virginia politics, and works to help local candidates run for political office. During the 2008 Presidential Election, David worked as the Executive Director of the Fairfax Republican Party and has been interviewed by such news organizations as the Washington Post, and other local news outlets regarding the need for citizens to get involved in the political process regardless of party.

David is a member of the Freemasons, and participates in charity work, especially support of our wounded armed services members. David has dedicated a lot of time to organizing and participating in "drives" to collect food and equipment to be shipped to our men and women serving overseas. David is also a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a fraternal order that emphasize selfless service to your local community. David has also participated in several trips to impoverished areas to help rebuild their community.
